A few years ago, on a whim, I set myself a challenge: to complete the Tour du Mont Blanc in total autonomy in 10 days. With a tent and all my food on my back, that was 170 km of hiking and 10,000 meters of elevation gain.
Each day, I walked between 8 and 10 hours with a 17 kg backpack, through breathtaking landscapes. Each evening, the routine was the same: pitch my tent, boil water from a stream, and rehydrate a freeze-dried meal. But every evening, it was the same disappointment: the food simply wasn’t good.
After a few more hikes, I decided enough was enough—I was hungry, and I wanted to eat well, even in the middle of nature.

So, I embarked on a series of experiments: cooking,
dehydrating, cooking, dehydrating, testing, and starting over… testing it on hikes, sharing it with friends, until I was
finally satisfied with my recipes.
And that’s how Alpibreak was born.
Alpibreak is now Switzerland’s first brand of dehydrated meals, created in Geneva.
